About the Author

Princess Marthe Bibesco (1886-1973) counted among her lovers a King of Spain, a Prince of Germany and many statesmen. Her dearest friends were Marcel Proust, Paul Claudel, and Ramsay MacDonald. Her novels were the first 20th century French works to be selected by The Literary Guild.
